The Future Teachers Programme was created to address the national shortage of teachers in the UK and to assist secondary schools with their own school direct teacher training programme fill their allocated number of trainees.
The future teachers programme provides graduates with school based experience by working in a secondary school as a learning support assistant. The roles can be in your subject specialism dependant on your degree subject but you will be working alongside fully qualified teachers providing additional classroom support supporting students on a small group or 1:1 basis. If you are looking to work in Manchester, Trafford, Stockport or Tameside we can provide the right opportunities for you.
You will also be given the opportunity to support students who have moderate learning support requirements such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and social emotional mental health support. The future teachers programme will give you the opportunity to secure a place on a school direct programme if your placement school offers this or to apply directly yourself for a PGCE programme thorough a University training provider.

- Suitable employment or educational based references
- University degree
- Application for a fully enhanced DBS certificate
