Our current apps for iPhone and iPad use augmented reality for virtual try-on as well as image processing, computer vision and machine learning to measure faces and ensure accurate measurements.

We're working in a domain full of interesting technical and design challenges and we need your help to make it as easy as picking up a device.

Who are we? We're FitsYou, a well-funded startup with significant partners in the industry, onboarded optical brands and decades of product and engineering experience. We know where we're headed and have a roadmap to get there. We're a division of Fuel3D, born out of Oxford University, our parent company develops innovative 3D scanning solutions across a range of industries from medical research to retail and has offices in Oxford, UK as well as the USA.

So what will you be doing?...

  • As a UX researcher, you'll work closely with our product and engineering teams, driving usability and design improvements from day one.
  • Actively participate in team discussions to identify and define end-to-end user flows.
  • Become a champion for our users, deeply understand them, identify their pain points through research, interviews and other feedback loops.
  • Explore the innovative domain of augmented reality, shape new approaches to interactivity through design.
  • Identify and prioritise research questions.
  • Design and execute studies that address user behaviour and attitudes.
  • Generate actionable insights that shape our product strategy and roadmap.
  • Communicate research findings in clear and compelling ways.
  • Measure the impact of changes.
  • Collaborate regularly using your strong communication, documentation and facilitation skills to ensure we're not only shipping great designs but solving the right problems too.
  • Advocate for and design accessible solutions

What we need from you …

  • A human-centric UX researcher who'll drive usability changes through in-person and remote research, interviews, focus groups and design tasks.
  • Demonstrable experience across the product design lifecycle from discovery/research through to final designs
  • Experience in designing and conducting user research.
  • Solid experience in UX research across both qualitative and quantitative disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of how to structure research and tests to reduce the risk of bias impacting results.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with design tools such as Figma.
  • A portfolio or presentations that highlight examples of problem-solving, research skills and outcomes.
  • A BS/BA Degree, ideally in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Communication, Design or other related field
  • Flexibility to travel in order to set up and conduct interviews and other research tasks.

You may also have …

  • Experience with design leadership and coordination.
  • Experience adopting remote research tools to conduct studies.
  • Experience collaborating with colleagues remotely.
  • Experience with UX writing.
  • Knowledge and experience of Agile working practices.
  • UI design skills.
