Employee Relations Assistant – Flexible location

The Employee Relations team is dedicated to advising and guiding the business on managing complex employment matters and organisational change programmes, such as restructures, acquisitions and disposals.

The Employee Relations team is also responsible for creating and maintaining the People & Culture policies, to make sure that they are inclusive and aligned to legislation/best practice to attract and retain talent within our business.

A**look into the role**

As an Assistant within our Employee Relations team you will:

  • supports the Employee Relations team during change programmes by completing project administration activities in a timely manner and in line with deadlines from the Project Lead
  • supports People and Culture Policy Manager in maintaining and updating policy documents and SharePoint pages
  • responsible for diary and inbox management for the Head of People Operations, Head of Employee Relations and Head of People Advisory Services
  • responsible for setting up new suppliers and ensuring that all invoices for the team are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with the legal obligations, liaising with the finance team to progress where required
  • collates cyclical and ad-hoc data and management information as requested and prepares / manipulates it ready for use
  • provides ad-hoc support in creating and formatting documents for the Employee Relations team, including Word and PowerPoint documents.

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an Employee Relations Assistant, the minimum criteriayou’ll need is:

  • GCSEs in Maths and English as a minimum
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams
  • Experience of a busy office environment with multiple demands from a variety of stakeholders
  • High level of communication skills – written and verbal with attention to detail
  • Ability to proof-read own work
  • Attention to detail
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise tasks to delivery on expectations
  • Outlook diary management
  • Ability to work autonomously when required but can contribute as part of a team
  • Understands the need for confidentiality in the Employee Relations team and wider People and Culture team.

It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Ability to collate and organise data
  • Previous experience of using HR software systems
  • Experience of working within an HR department.
