Our national client based in Gloucester, a wholesale drinks distributor, are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team.
The primary purpose of this role is recording and processing costs for the South West Region in an accurate and timely manner.
Providing support to the Finance Manager and site operations staff. The role requires an understanding of financial accounting with the ability to assist with the monthly trading cycle including journal preparation and input, invoicing, Purchase Orders, Internal invoice preparation and posting, accruals and prepayments.
Tasks of the Finance Assistant;
o Weekly/Monthly Quicks reporting for the contract
o Purchase ledger / raising PO requisitions and housekeeping
o General Ledger / Journal production
o Assist with the production of monthly customer accounts and relevant back up reports
o Sales invoicing and credit control
o Support Finance Manager with month end trading processes
o Assist the operations team with scrutinising and understanding their financial quicks and current level of spend versus budgets
o Support Finance Manager in producing accurate data
o Supporting Operations team with production of ad-hoc KPI information
o Ad-hoc finance reporting & analysis
Required Skills of the Finance Assistant;
o Understanding of Accounting principles
o Computer literate - intermediate Excel skills
o Purchase Ledger experience
o Self-motivated, able to work unsupervised
o Good time management
o Strong Excel skills - intermediate or above
