Product Owner

We are recruiting for a Product Owner who is capable of challenging thinking and being part of the technology development revolution… someone who can help shape the companies’ digital transformation programmes.

As a Product Owner, your primary responsibility is to maximise the value of the product delivered based on the agreed vision. To do this you will represent the needs of the customer by keeping key capabilities and desired outcomes in mind.

The company specialises in transformation of CX and automation of processes.

You will ideally come from a technical background, with previous product owner experience delivering projects in an agile / scrum framework. An inquisitive, investigative and detail orientated individual that can run consultative customer-focused workshops while building rapport and instilling confidence in the customer.

Your key responsibilities as a Product Owner:

  • Being responsible for producing, maintaining and prioritising the Product Backlog.
  • Conducting story writing workshops with the customer at the start of each project to collaboratively write user stories and agree on acceptance criteria
  • Elaboration of Epics, Themes and Features into user stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint.
  • Working with the customer to prioritise stories to maximise business value created by the development team.
  • Working with development teams in estimation and review sessions.
  • Having close discussions with the customer to avoid the missed requirement syndrome.
  • Working closely with the Scrum Master to ensure the Product deliverables are ready for team to work on.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the customer requirements and act as a proxy between the customer and development team to effectively progress development solutions.
  • Maintaining the development team’s focus on delivering value, balancing multiple streams of requirements so they can concentrate on creating a great product.
  • Setting the quality standards for the customer experience of the product and ensuring that these are delivered.

The Product Owner job is perfect if you have:

  • Previous experience working in Agile methodology, preferably Scrum framework.
  • Proven experience working with Agile teams as a Product Owner.
  • Modelled business systems and processes, including the roles within an organisation and those responsible for implementing and maintaining them.
  • The ability to accurately capture and document user stories and acceptance criteria as per customer expectations in the product Backlog.
  • Managing customer relations and expectations and work closely with them on refinement of
  • Ability to manage conflicting messages, influence stakeholders whilst retaining a focus on core business requirements
  • Been educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of the processes involved in software development and delivery of professional services.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Prioritise work and deliver to tight timescales, demonstrating good organisational, communication and administrative skills
  • Maintain professional credibility and integrity, with the ability to take responsibility for problems and mistakes and rectify them accordingly
  • Always demonstrate a strong client ethos and approach conversations in a consultative manner keeping the needs of the client in mind
  • Maintain cross functional awareness and posses a highly analytical mind
  • Have the flexibility to travel to client sites
  • Have a full UK driving licence and use of a car
