With a large manufacturing facility in Kent that is expanding, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our client as a Quality Technician.

They are a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke magnetically shielded rooms, with a customer base throughout the UK, Europe, USA, and Asia. All the manufacturing processes, including heat treatment are integrated in the production plant. As a result of their success, they are looking for a Quality Technician to join the team.

This is a hands-on role that would suit an experienced Quality Technician with a strong background in the inspection of fine limit sheet metal fabrications and associated products

The role:

Final inspection of sheet metal & machined components to drawings manufactured in the engineering plant
Inspection of incoming raw materials and sub-contract operations
In-process inspection of parts
Maintain all quality records
Calibration of measuring equipment
Assisting the quality engineer with non-conforming investigations
Assisting with ISO 9001 management system duties
Meeting production deadlines for orders
Supporting the quality team in discussions with suppliers & customers over concerns & issues

Essential skills:

Experience of fine limit sheet metal inspection
Experience of using measurement equipment
Ability of reading engineering drawings, tolerances and first principle measuring techniques
Experience and understanding of ISO 9001
Strong organisational and decision-making skills
Proficient IT skills and experience of ERP systems
Team player possessing good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate to staff at all levels
Possess a fine attention to detail

Desirable Skills

Experience of CMM
Experience of XRF analysis
Experience of hardness and tensile testing
Experience of 8D, FMEA, AQAP processes


Salary: £22,000 - £28,000, DOE
Holiday: 28 days including bank holidays
Holiday: Extra 1 day per year completed
