Caledonia Water Alliance will successfully and safely work with Scottish Water and Morrison Utility Services to jointly deliver a six year water infrastructure capital development programme for the highest level of customer satisfaction.

We are currently recruiting for a Project Scheduler, to ensure the successful planning, cost and resource loading, baselining, progress updating and change control of individual project schedules within the Q&S IV Clean Water programme, in accordance with CWA Planning & Scheduling strategies and methodologies. The role involves active participation in a close-knit delivery team to optimise output productivity and overall efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the project Cost, Work and Organisational Breakdown Structures specified by the PMO Scheduling Manager
  • Prepare project schedules to ensure sufficient levels of detail for activity management and tracking purposes
  • Apply cost and resource loadings to workstream activities/project schedules
  • Identify and monitor the critical paths and critical dependencies
  • Update schedules to include authorised change orders
  • Create and re-set project baselines
  • Determine progress update and status information to suit the tracking/reporting cycle
  • Analyse the impact of identified risks, issues and proposed changes on project schedules
  • Prepare appropriate risk schedules to assist the PMO Risk Manager with the implementation of Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis techniques
  • Highlight opportunities to improve production/delivery dates using activity overlaps, resource optimisation and schedule float
  • Create and maintain the project resource availability and usage record

The post holder should be able to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of working in a programme/project scheduling role
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling applications
  • Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • A pro-active approach to solving problems and getting the job done
  • A clear focus on customer/stakeholder needs
  • Equally comfortable working alone or in a team

You should possess:

  • A degree in a Construction discipline plus minimum of 3 years Project Scheduling experience or HNC/HND in a Construction discipline plus minimum of 5 years Project Scheduling experience, although other relevant experience with related qualifications may also be considered
  • Primavera 102 & 106P certification
  • A project management related accreditation e.g. PRINCE2, ITIL
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body e.g. MICE, MCIOB
  • A demonstrable record of continuous improvement
