Our mission is to improve health and health equity in the UK and worldwide; working in partnership to achieve excellence in public and global health research, education and translation of knowledge into policy and practice. We are seeking to appoint a Team Administrator to work within the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology (IDE). The main projects within the team include the £5 million grant for ENAP Metrics, and Save the Children’s Saving Newborn Lives project, plus Gates funded Group B Streptococcus burden estimates. The Every Newborn Action Plan (ENAP) was launched in June 2014 with the aim to support countries in reaching the target of fewer than 12 newborn deaths and stillbirths per 1000 births by 2030.The post-holder will provide high quality logistical and administrative support to the Director and the team, including travel coordination, coordinating workshops and proofreading reports and documents in both print and electronic media. They will also be expected to build effective working relationships within the team, with wider colleagues in the School and with external project partners. The successful candidate will be expected to take informed operational decisions with regard to logistical arrangements and identifying possible vendors for communications and use their initiative to resolve challenges, should they arise.The successful candidate must be educated to degree level or have relevant experience in administration and finance, significant experience in managing events, budgets, project finance and working knowledge of software relevant to grant management, advanced working knowledge of the MS Office Suite and Management Information Systems as well as proven experience of administration in an academic, non-governmental organization, or a business with a substantial turnover. In addition, the post holder will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administration skills, along with adaptability, openness to change and personal motivation in all aspects of their work. Further particulars are included in the attached job description.The post is full-time and will commence as soon as possible and is funded until 30 November 2018 in the first instance. The salary will be on LSHTM’s Professional Support Pathway Grade 4 scale in the range £28,270 to £29,004 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff.
