GamCare is the UK’s leading provider of information, advice and support for anyone affected by gambling-related harms.
We are excited to be recruiting for a full-time Digital Communications Officer to support the comms team in developing and implementing our new strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to utilise or develop their creative and project management skills and who wants to play a part in making sure that those affected by gambling harm receive the help they need.
In the last 12 months our Policy & Communications directorate has grown from one person to seven. We are better positioned than ever to provide the critical cross-organisational support needed to make sure GamCare can help those affected by problem gambling. Our processes and strategies are newly employed, and to make sure that we can reach our objectives we require the skills and expertise of a brilliant new Digital Communications Officer.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Supporting GamCare’s new strategy for digital comms.
- Delivering original content plans
- Ensuring safeguarding issues are managed effectively
- Overseeing use of real stories, images and videos, and content.
The work itself will be varied, however the constant will be working with the digital communications manager to develop and implement a digital communications strategy for GamCare’s website and social media channels. The role will include creating original creative assets for use across digital platforms, ensuring that our audiences online are looked after from a safeguarding perspective through moderating our channels, and undertaking other project work alongside the rest of the team and other stakeholders around the organisation.
This role will involve stakeholder engagement by which the post-holder will work with colleagues across the organisation to make sure that our digital platforms are working for them and their own work is being supported through digital comms. For this reason, it will be critical that the newly appointed individual is able to build and maintain strong working relationships. This is a wide-reaching role, with an expectation that you will be able to successfully manage content planning, creation and evaluation across several projects at any one time.
This role reports to the Digital Communications Manager and will be pivotal in developing, leading and delivering first-class comms work.
This position will require some evening and weekend work, on a rota basis.
Regarding the location for the role and your main place of work will be the London Office and the attendance at the office will be discussed in detail when you start. We work flexibly in GamCare and so are open to people working, when the role allows, from home.
It is a genuinely exciting time to join GamCare as we develop our work portfolio and expand our programme and support service. If you are ready to work in a dynamic environment for an ambitious and collaborative organisation, have a read of our full job description or get in touch for more details.
