Ourwarehouse operation plays such an important part in the service we offer to ourcustomers. The warehouse stocks all size variances in each product, which insome cases can be up to 90 different sizes, to ensure we can always offer ourcustomers the best choice possible. The warehouse holds around 525,000 items atany one time and from an order being placed, our team can pick and pack an itemand get it on its way to a customer within 90 minutes. Due to the large stockvariances, we also operate a customer order transfer function through ourwarehouse which means we can offer our customers available stock from anywherein the business. In our peak (which is summer!) we have around 22,000items leaving the warehouse each day to our customers and shops.

To support in the effective running of the operation, we arelooking for a Warehouse Department Manager to join our team.

About the Job

As a Warehouse Department Manager, you will lead and inspire the team to continue to deliver the service that were so passionate about. Whether thats ensuring that our stock in accounted for across the business to allow us to get it to customers as soon as possible, or ensuring every delivery is packaged and wrapped perfectly to create an amazing first impression, you will be a role model for our service.

Whilst service is very important to us, we are not KPI led. You will lead your team to deliver great standards every time based on whats right for our customers which may not necessarily be what is the most cost effective or time efficient solution for the operation. You should be naturally inquisitive with a passionfor looking for new ways to improve existing systems and processes to continueto enhance the experience we deliver to our customers. You will work closelywith a number of other departments across the business to ensure that theoperation is working in collaboration with key departments including customerservices, merchandising and finance.

The Goods In Department has a unique element inthat it requires a lot of forward planning, so you should be thorough andorganised in your approach. You willalso work closely with a number of teams across the business so you should be aconfident networker with a natural ability to build relationships. As with any operational role, there is arequirement for you to have flexibility when required to support other shiftsand department.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicatedDepartment Manager with the ability to lead a team. Proactive in nature youwill be able to work independently and take accountability for the results ofyour team, with the ability to deputise for yourshift manager when required. It is essential that you can inspire and motivateothers to deliver the service our customers expect.

You will have experience of running departments within a large warehouse (ideally as part of an eCommerce operation, but this isnt essential), with a track record of improving departmental and warehouse processes. With a solid understanding of health and safety, you will be able to ensure this is a priority for all staff at all times; maintaining a safe working environment and taking ownership of managing risks as they occur. You will also have the ability to engage with yourteam and other teams across the business, ensuring day to day operations are organizedand moving forward, using your management skills to empower your team todeliver great results. You will ensure team achievements are recognized andsupport your shift managers by identifying talent and developing your team forour future growth.
