PCB Care are recruiting for a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor/Gym Instructor based in the Kitts Green area of Birmingham. This is a part time role working 16 hours a week across 2 days. (7.5 worked / 0.5 lunch break). 1. Primary purpose of the role An important aspect of this role is the provision of a proactive approach to OH by medical assessment for fitness for duties and early intervention of any medical issues highlighted by liaising with the appropriate health care provider. Key member of the occupational health team providing a comprehensive healthy lifestyle service service to all employees of Kitts Green. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Conduct employee health checks including, height, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol Management and implementation of the sites health and mental health promotion program Offer nutritional advice/dietary recommendations Ability to organize, plan and prioritize workload Conduct gym inductions in on-site gym ensuring each individual is fully assessed, complete required documentation (PAR-Q) Conduct gym classes i.e. body conditioning, box-fit. Increase employee physical activity. This may be through use of the on-site gym or through sporting and social events Increase employee engagement in site health promotion theme 2. Major activities/ Key accountabilities Management and development of site Health Promotion program Health needs assessment/completion of health check; either through shop floor visits or drop in clinics. Nutritional advice and guidance Engage employees by regular area/shop floor visits Advise employees on general health issues; signposting to site Occupational Health Nurse as required Follow the direction of the Health and Safety Manager Management of on-site employee gym, including, employee gym inductions, gym class timetable Involvement/guiding role within site wellness committee Data input of health stats using database tools to enable for measurable results of health promotion effectiveness Routine filing of assessments/PAR-Q Analysis of health stats Ensure all work is in line with appropriate professional Codes of Practice. Ensure all client data is protected and access controlled. Provide pro-active information to Health and Safety Manager on work-related lifestyle issues. Participate/deliver in-house training Attend relevant meetings Use on site clocking system and provide time sheets for authorised sign off Technical skills required for the role: Computer literate with understanding of Microsoft applications Experience of similar health promotion role Competence in routine health checks; weight, height, blood pressure, cholesterol.
