Pub Social Volunteer - Islington

You will be supporting our Pub Social in Islington, as part of our Me Time Programme. The Social Drop-in runs every Wednesday during our 12-week programme and is a chance for local people with learning disabilities to get out of the house, make friends, have fun and improve wellbeing. As a volunteer you will help people to access the building, find a table, order refreshments, encourage conversation and help people to be social and make friends. We feel this is a really worthwhile and fun volunteering opportunity, that will help make a difference to the lives of people with a learning disability. What skills do I need? - Over 18 years of age - Friendly and approachable - Reliable and patient - Interested in others - Able to use initiative - Accepting of others who might be different to yourself - Able or willing to learn how to manage challenging behaviour - Willing to volunteer within guidelines and take direction - Good at communicating and listening What days and times do I need to be available? The Pub Social runs every Wednesday evening during our 12-week programme on the Holloway Road, London. We are also asking that you commit to at least 3 months of volunteering.
