Children's Residential Support Worker - Adhoc/Temp/Agency
Your new company
As a temporary/ adhoc children's support worker, you will have the opportunity to work for a diversity of children's settings throughout the greater Swansea Area. With a strong focus on nurturing, understanding and independence, support workers will also need to be passionate about improving quality of life for children up to age 18 . Achieving this quality of life is done through carefully thought out planning, education and social activities. The job role does come with scope to move into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Your new role
Cover relief shifts for permanent support workers
Understand and implement carefully thought out individual care plans
Ensure the safety and confidentiality of those you support, adhering to safeguarding regulation and GDPR
Recognising actual or potential challenging situations and navigating this through correct procedure
Building strong rapport with the children you support
Engaging in fun, active and educational activities to nurture independence and confidence
Provide a safe, welcoming and homely atmosphere
Aiding those you support with their day-to-day tasks, which may include elements of personal care
What you'll need to succeed
Experience within the care /education sector is desired
L2 or L3 Health and Social Care / Children and Young people desired
Compassion, empathy, self- motivation and resilience
Reliability and a strong work ethic
Excellent use of a range of communication methods
23 years or older (essential to keep an age gap between residents and support staff)
Full UK License is desired not essential
DBS on the update service is a bonus for swift registration
