Data Scientist – Global Identity and Fraud

Equifax is looking for a Data Scientist to join our world-class Global Identity and Fraud Capabilities team. You will be working in a dynamic environment, where we embrace moving quickly to build the core capabilities of our global platform. In this exciting role, you will be applying your ML and data science skills to building out superior features and models. A successful candidate will exhibit data and process curiosity, desire to learn new concepts, have a strong customer focus and ‘product sense’ along with superior data science skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Represent as Data Science member of Global Identity & Fraud Capabilities and work with cross-functional teams to develop ideas and execute on product road-maps
• Design and implement ML features and components of the ID & Fraud platform and capabilities
• Work with Engineering and Product teams to deliver these features and models in production
• Design analytical frameworks to monitor product and capability performance
• Perform hands-on data analysis and modeling with huge data sets and apply state of the art machine learning, statistics or data mining and develop prototypes for future exploration
• Design and build data pipe-lines and perform data wrangling to enable data science modeling
• Collaborate with scientists to drive cutting-edge research toward product and global capability realization

Skills and Experience:
• 3-5 years of industrial experience applying analytics to solve fraud/risk in financial services, payment, e-commerce or related arena
• Master’s degree or higher in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics or other related discipline
• Strong hands-on analytical experience in applying AI and ML algorithms and techniques using Python, Scala, R and other statistical and AI/ML packages and willingness to learn new tools
• Broad knowledge of Machine Learning, Algorithm design and Software Engineering concepts
• Experience working with very large datasets, knowledge of distributed computing tools (Spark, Hive, etc.), and Visualization tools such as Tableau and Spotfire
• Experience working in Agile environment and with cross-disciplines including Data Engineers, IT Architects, Operations, Product, Sales, Marketing and other Business representatives
• Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work through vague requirements with minimal oversight and process
• Strong oral and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
