JustOT is recruiting for a senior OT to work in a 40bed mental health hospital in north Hertfordshire, offering a range of specialist services for both men and women across 3 separate locked wards.Service users are usually referred from other secure placements or from acute wards and are detained under the appropriate section of the Mental Health Act

  • Senior Occupational Therapist North Hertfordshire
    Salary £32,000 £35,000 dependent on experience
    Hours Fulltime (37.5 hours per week) usually MonFri but flexibility is required.

  • The care provided is
    *8bed psychiatric intensive care unit for women aged 1865 (PICU)
    *Rehabilitation service for men aged 18 to 65 who present with behavioural challenges and complex mental health needs
    *Highdependency ward for men and women of 65 and older experiencing mental health issues and challenging behaviour but needing more physical healthcare as well.

  • Job Purpose:
    * To work as part of the Psychology and Therapies team across all units ensuring smooth and seamless psychology and therapies services provision across all sites of the company that meets the needs of all service user groups cared for by the healthcare care teams.
    * To work within the multidisciplinary teams across all healthcare units, managing a defined caseload of service users providing core occupational therapy assessments and interventions that enable the services users to work towards recovery, a valued lifestyle and aim for optimum level of functional ability.
    * To assist the Head of Psychology and Therapies in overseeing the provision of the occupational group therapies across all the healthcare units ensuring these meet the needs of the client groups and, ensuring that the outcomes measures are consistently implemented and routinely reported on to the Senior Management Team.

  • To be considered for this role you must have
    *Full HCPC registration
    *Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy
    *Team leading experience
    *Experience of working in complex mental health supporting vulnerable adults who present with a wide range of issues (psychiatric conditions, mild LD, older adults with neurocognitive deficits, personality disorders) and complex physical health care needs.
