Community Support Worker - Long Eaton
£16,309 pro rata + excellent benefits
We are looking for a community support worker to join us in our services and in our domiciliary care across Long Eaton. You will be supporting people in their own homes and will be encouraging independent living.
As a support worker you will be supporting people in different ways. The type of support you will provide would be prompting on medication and personal care, ensuring the person keeps up with their tenancy agreement and ensuring they live the happiest independent life. Being a support worker isn’t just about making day to day life easier it’s about having fun! The people we support love to access the community due to this and the nature of the role we require drivers for this role.
Have a look at the additional information attached created by the people we support; this will give you an idea of what the people we support want from you.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns. At present this service does not require sleep ins, however we cannot guarantee that the people we support in the community will not need sleep in staff in the future. We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance – Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.
One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
Being a driver is beneficial to this role for getting out to different homes within the community.
An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
