Do you have experience with personal care? Are you understanding of others needs and adaptable to those needs? Are you creative and good with communication? Are you looking for a position as a SEN Primary Teacher to start this September? Then this might be the role for you!

Academics Ltd are supporting a SEN school in Sutton Coldfield with their search for an SEN Primary Teacher. Within this role you will be working with primary aged pupils and will be expected to communicate on different levels dealing with a range of special educational needs (PMLD, SLD). You will be expected to handle children with additional needs; sensory impairments; complex medical conditions; learning difficulties and communication difficulties, with the upmost care and empathy. This school requires a lot of personal care due to the nature of the disabilities the children have and therefore this would be a crucial part to the day.

The Role

Supporting childrens needs and queries Able to provide personal care e.g. toileting Adhering to safeguarding guidelines and school policies Liaising with parents and professionals regarding progress and specialised individual programmes Supporting children through their day to day routine (PMLD, SLD, MLD) Working collaboratively with professionals to enhance quality of teaching

Requirements

Understanding of individual needs and being adaptable to deal with them Mentoring and other means of support be it one to one or in small groups At least 1 years experience working with SEN children Available full time Ability to travel to Sutton Coldfield Available to start in September 2019 Qualifications (ideally PGCE, BEd, Cert Ed, BA with QTS) Proven experience Hold a valid fully enhanced DBS
