Marketing & Ops Manager

£25,000 to £30,000 annually with 15% - 40% upside profit.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with an e-commerce background to become an integral part of a fun and fast growing brand.

About us

TellTails is a entrepreneurial start up who makes and sells quality wearable animal tails for humans! We have three sales channels; events, wholesale and a growing focus on our e-commerce store. Last year we doubled our profit. We are looking to expand as a global e-commerce business with a strong brand and fun marketing approach, and are looking for the right person to come on board and play an integral part of this next stage, growing as an e-commerce business with large profit share incentives.

The role

You will be the first employee at TellTails, working closely with the founder Hannah. You will be involved in all areas of the business and will be responsible for running the current business smoothly whilst growing the e-commerce business. You will have the chance to make a big stamp on a small company. The founder will continue working as creative director generating marketing ideas and new products to keep pushing the brand forward. Your role will be highly varied and will include:

Sales and marketing

  • Use web analytics to identify and leverage key metrics for growth and profitability

  • Managing our social media accounts and help to grow our following.

  • Attract and retain customers from marketing.

  • Email marketing by increasing our mailing list and orchestrating mail-outs to a specific diary or campaigns.

  • Organising and gathering video content.

-Responsible for keeping TellTails' website up to date or working alongside a developer to make changes.

  • Setting up and managing Google Adwords campaigns to get a high ROI.

  • Looking after our wholesale accounts and gaining new ones. We currently stock 20+ retailers, including Natural History Museum.

Operational management

  • Work alongside the founder to develop strategies and tactics for growth.

•Develop and manage budgets for stock, marketing, operations and technology.

  • Recruit, manage, and develop personnel to support business growth.

Manage our warehouse to make sure all is running smoothly to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Liaise with our factory to make sure all manufacture is on track and organise stock movements via our freight company.
  • Keep the business admin organised and running smoothly.
  • Liaising with our accountant to make sure he has all necessary paperwork and invoices.
  • You will need to be highly organised with a clear financial direction in order to prioritise tasks.
  • Meet revenue and profit targets.
  • Network management, via Linked In and other platforms.

  • Pro-active and able to take the initiative.

  • Quick learner and adaptable.

  • Tech geek with a strong analytical outlook

  • Proficient with Shopify, Excel, Word and Xero.

  • Search engine optimisation expertise.

  • Experienced in increasing ROI through Google Adwords.

  • Facebook and Instagram marketing expertise.

  • A great leader, articulate and an excellent communicator.
