Our client is an established provider of vocational qualifications and apprenticeships in the South East, South West, London, East Anglia and West Midlands & Dorset. Due to continued growth they are seeking an Employability Skills Tutor

Responsible to the Quality & Compliance Manager

The Role

  • Programs and other training, which Tempus requires to be delivered.

  • Responsible for a weekly cohort of learners and completing the Google Tracker

  • You will be responsible for ensuring your paperwork is ready for each cohort of learners

  • Assess/mark learner's workbooks and provide constructive specific individual feedback.

  • Identify support and progression needs,

  • Provide 1-2-1 support for learners in own group if required.

  • Completion of course workbooks to meet the expected standards ready for IQA

  • Complete own reflection after every course  Check evidence presented by students is sufficient, up-to-date and appropriate/valid

  • Ensure scanned copies of all identification, benefits evidence / neets and utility bills are scanned to the relevant administrator by 10:00am on the third day of any given 5 day course.

  • Any learner that is causing you distress or is being violent must be reported immediately to Sarah Parker or David Lawrence

  • Any learners that do not abide by the course demands or need to be asked to leave this decision can only be made by Sarah Parker or David Lawrence.

  • All exams to be sent tracked the day the exam completes FAO Sarah Parker at the Brighton Office

  • All learners start paperwork and workbooks to be sent via tracked delivery and should arrive at Brighton FAO Sarah Parker no later than the Tuesday after the course has finished.

  • Ensure that you arrange an invigilator for your exams this will be supported by the office

  • Attend Quarterly team / standardisation meetings when required.

  • Allow IQA's to witness your teaching, observation of evidence.

  • Comply with all policies in the staff handbook and make sure you follow fair practices, in relation to Equality and diversity with colleagues, and learners.

General Job Role Responsibilities

  • Maintaining standards of cleanliness in the classroom / Venue.

  • Support Dave Lawrence where required on completing schedules for all dates and times of course delivery

  • Informing Dave Lawrence or Sarah Parker of any poor attendance issues or areas of concern regarding your learners

  • Report any shortages of stock/resources to Sarah Parker

  • Maintain and work with all standards and systems promote and continually improve overall quality of the course program.

  • Ensure you keep up to date records of your personal CPD ready for the IQA to review.

Safe Guarding

  • Identify "at risk learners" report to safe guarding officer S.Parker, share information at team meetings if appropriate

  • Deal with any sensitive information/keeping confidential information safe, about learners, informing your safe guarding officer and line manager, if appropriate, to resolve any matters.

  • Safeguarding young people under the age of 18 years and any vulnerable adult you are required to have a DBS check.

  • You must ensure all written reports on any concerns a young person may disclose to you or one of the team in your centre, are completed and put on file

  • Vigilant to poor attendance changes of behavior. Any serious concerns must be reported to your line manager when required, and/or report to your safeguarding officer Sarah Parker.
