Commercial & Contracts Administrator

A temporary position has become available within the Finance and Commercial organisation at my clients site in Newport, for the position of Commercial & Contract Administrator within Cyber Security.

This position will be responsible for supporting the management of all Commercial and Contractual aspects of allocated bids and contracts across this diverse programme line.

This role will require a candidate who is experienced, selfmotivated and solution orientated with excellent communication skills both internally and externally across a range of stakeholder; expertise in supporting the preparing and executing winning proposals with experience of customer dialogue and negotiation in order to secure new sales and maximise profitability on existing contracts in a dynamic growing market.

They will be critical in the support to the C&C team on all contractual aspects along with preparation of new bids, reviewing of existing contracts/bids and general contract administration.

The role reports to the Team Lead Contract & Commercial.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide contractual guidance and expertise in support of Cyber Sales and Programme teams

  • Assist the response to the commercial and contractual needs of the diverse entities within Cyber, adapting to local requirements, as necessary

  • Assist the Team Leader with the transnational Cyber C&C team located in France, Germany and UK as required

  • Ensure Airbus commercial policies are correctly adhered to and respected.

  • Support the management of all C&C matters within bids and contracts, from receipt of RFP to project closure and ensure commercial risks are highlighted and mitigated

  • Asist with the Improvement of contract management culture throughout the Cyber organization (project managers)

In particular the C&C Administrator is responsible to:

  • Contribute to the review of the nontechnical part of RFPs received by Cyber UK and assist with the recommendations regarding go/no go, bid/no bid decision process and proposed deviations clients requirements.

  • Assist with the commercial and contractual elements, inputs and documentation as required for internal review meetings (according to Airbus process and quality rules)

  • Interface with other functions such as legal, compliance, tax, insurance, finance, offset,

  • Support the Collection and preparation of the bid documentation to be submitted prior to or with the offer

  • Support the review of requirements for flow down to suppliers, subcontractors and cocontractors and ensuring that financial risks are assessed in the proposal

  • Support the Preparation of contractual and commercial part of proposals (including cover letters)

  • Be involved with the commercial aspects of customer negotiations

  • Support the Preparation and to distribute the relevant documentation required for Maturity Gates/RMC

  • Support the management of contracts with the project teams

  • Assist the team Leader with contract administration

  • Support the discussions related to partnerships with third parties including NDAs, MoUs, Teaming and Consortium Agreements

  • Review, amend and/or draft agreements and contracts and ensure the proper integration of various elements by acting as focal point and interface

  • Interface with Legal for contract waivers, claims and dispute process

  • Support with contract closure process

  • Support the team Leader to Ensure Airbus ethics and compliance rules are known and strictly applied within Cyber.


  • Contractual or Legal background

  • Negotiation and contract management skills within the commercial fields: Commercial/Sales/Bidding/Procurement/Delivery

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of general contractual terms relating to IT, equipment and service provision.

  • Knowledge of finance topics would be a plus

  • Experience of working with Governmental and NonGovernmental customers on product and moderately complex proposals and contracts would be beneficial.

  • Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks and use initiative.

  • Ability to work on own initiative, under pressure and with attention to detail.

  • Ability to operate at all levels, both internally and externally.

  • Good interdepartmental interface skills.

  • Good presentation and communication skills.

  • Good planning and organisational skills.

  • Native UK language and nationality required.

  • Master or Master 2 with 10 years experience in a legal or commercial role.

  • Good understanding of UK law relating to public procurement, commercial and IP law.

  • Knowledge of UK Government contracts and contacting mechanisms.

  • Experience of working on proposals and contracts within the Defence or Security Operations domain would be beneficial

You would be expected to work a 35hour week with an hourly rate of either £20.00 Ltd Company or £15.35 PAYE.

The length of contract is until the end of November.
