Are you a due to be a Science graduate this summer and looking to pursue a career as a secondary Science teacher but don't know where to start?

Would you like to earn money whilst gaining experience as a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor in one our partner secondary schools across East Sussex and have the opportunity to begin a teaching training programme with the same school?

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for Science undergraduates who are due to complete their degree this summer and have aspirations of becoming a secondary Science teacher, to join our Future Teachers Programme from September 2019! See below for more information.

The Future Teachers Programme is a scheme designed to help tackle the current teacher shortages we have across England and Wales, and allows graduates to secure employment as a full time teaching assistant or cover supervisor for a year before having the opportunity to progress onto your teacher training with one of our lead training schools to become a Science teacher!

Highlights of the Future Teachers Programme:

  • Full time Teaching Assistant role or Cover Supervisor role for upcoming Graduates of Science - starting Sept 2019.
  • Paid TA/CS experience for 12 months whilst you gain a range of teaching skills and knowledge - Earning up to £1500 per month!
  • Opportunity to progress onto a teacher training course with the same secondary school from Sept 2020.
  • Great way to decide if secondary teaching is the career for you!

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisor, you will engage in a range of tasks to get a full feel of what it would be like to be a Science teacher, from supporting pupils with their studies in small groups and 1:1, to assisting class teachers across all departments including your Science specialism and getting involved with planning/delivering your own lessons! You will be well supported every step of the way from starting your new role as a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, through to the completion of your teaching training.
