The Organisation

Our client is a charity that enables young people to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives, no matter what their background or circumstances.

The charity offers a broad range of services, including four youth centres, advice and support, creative courses and alternative education and support. Primarily, they work with young people who are hard to reach and on the margins of society.

In 2018 our client worked with 4280 young people that’s 25% more than in 2017. Each one of those young people had unique needs and barriers that were preventing them from thriving.

They have ambitions to change even more lives in 2019 and beyond and are looking for a Fundraising Officer to help them make this happen. This is a part time role, working 32 hours per week.

Your Role

As a Fundraising Officer, you’ll research and apply for funding from small trusts, as well as maintaining positive relationships to facilitate future support for the charity.

Assisting with all aspects of fundraising activity, you will:

  • Maximise income from funders in line with fundraising targets
  • Help to write applications and reports to trusts and foundations
  • Create compelling cases for support
  • Deliver bespoke stewardship plans
  • Prospect new foundations, trusts and donors, creating detailed profiles
  • Carry out a range of admin tasks

About You

To be considered as a Fundraising Officer, you’ll need:

  • At least two years’ fundraising experience
  • Experience of two or more fundraising income streams
  • A track record of achieving funding targets, either alone or as part of a team
  • Experience of meeting targets and deadlines
  • Strong IT skills
  • At a minimum, A Levels (or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A professional fundraising qualification would be beneficial.
