The school based on the west side of Southampton who are considered to be a ‘good’ school are looking to recruit a teacher of Music for January, initially on a 12 month temporary contract. The department is highly aspirational and the school values the performing arts as a fundamental aspect of school life. With the Music faculty playing being at the heart of the school community, they are looking for a teacher who is ambitious, is very passionate about teaching and learning and is able to motivate and inspire students to develop a love for the arts from joining the school in year 7 and continuing it through to KS4.

The school aims to provide a world class education for their students through an all –inclusive approach to pedagogy, inspirational teaching & through excellent learning support. As a teacher at the school, you will be required to fully immerse in their ethos and make a positive contribution to not only your subject but the wider community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have expert knowledge of the curriculum for Music with a good track record of teaching and learning
  • Be ambitious for not only your students to perform well, but also for your own professional development
  • Be a team player, sharing best practice and resources with your colleagues and be prepared to contribute your ideas and experience on staff training days
  • You should have a good first degree in a Music or related subject and UK QTS

The successful candidate will also be require to undergo a series of vetting checks including referencing and DBS checks. The advert will remain live until the most suitable candidate is appointed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
