Salary: £18,300 per annum

Location: Burgess Hill

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday Friday

We are thrilled to be working with one of our longterm, established client based in Burgess Hill, who are currently seeking an Admissions Assistant to join their busy and friendly team. This is an exciting role for a candidate with an excellent customer rapport and exposure to a salesbased environment.

The Admissions Assistant will be responsible for ensuring recruitment of overseas and UK based students whilst providing support to the Admissions Officer. As such the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and a great customer manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed understanding of and arranging visas for overseas students
  • Ensuring all administration, legislation and compliance requirements for overseas students is always up to date
  • Proactively following up on all admissions leads, responding to queries from prospective parents in a timely manner and arrange taster days for prospective students
  • Organising assessment testing for prospective students
  • Organising Skype interviews for overseas students
  • Providing detailed and up to date statistics on admissions
  • Providing and suggesting new ways in which admissions processes can be improved
  • Providing detailed feedback on reasons for applicants declining a place or failing to register to ensure this is fed back into the overall marketing plan
  • Supporting with the organisation of the scholarship process for new and existing students, ensuring the delivery of correct papers, effective invigilation, marking of scripts and appropriate communication of results, whilst maintaining an efficient and welcoming service to prospective students and parents
  • Supporting the Head of Events with the organisation of overseas recruiting visits in order to develop and maintain a presence in various markets
  • Supporting the Head of Events in producing innovative and effective open days and other admissions events
  • Arranging tours for overseas agents and prospective parent visits
  • Maintaining the admissions section of the database ensuring it is accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements

  • Ability to set up and maintain accurate files and records
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work in a small, busy team but also able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
  • A flexible and adaptable customer response approach with a cando attitude
  • Proactive and able to use initiative
  • Warm and professional manner
  • Outgoing in personality with the enthusiasm and gravitas to be an outstanding ambassador
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to form good working relationships with staff, parents, pupils and prospective pupils and visitors to engage confidently with a wide range audiences
  • An interest in education
  • Good working knowledge of MS Programmes, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
