Account Manager - Remote Working
Reigate, Surrey, England
This role is open to remote working meaning you aren't required in the office 5 days a week. We're less about you driving to work and more about us collectively driving down our carbon footprint. We care about how you work rather than where you work; the people rather than the postcode. In support of our people and our greener futures strategies, we'd welcome a conversation with the successful candidate on what remote working may look like for you.
The starting salary for this role is £40,227 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.
It's an exciting time to be joining Surrey County Council as we start to work on a series of major infrastructure projects to improve the lives of people living and working in Surrey.
Our major projects portfolio spans large town centre placemaking schemes, the £500m flood alleviation River Thames Scheme, the roll out of electric vehicle infrastructure and highways upgrades to support new housing. This work is vital in helping to tackle climate change, and supporting residents to change their behaviour and leave the car at home.
We are currently looking for communications specialists to join our new major projects team. We want to hear from people who can bring their experience of working on similar projects and can turn technical reports into engaging content to help us consult, engage and communicate with our stakeholders.
As Account Manager, you will be expected to take a lead role across a number of complex and politically-sensitive projects. Finding ways to keep key stakeholders and the wider public up to date is important - even when there's not a lot to report - and ensuring we hear the voices of hard to reach groups will be vital.
Maybe you've worked on a major consultation as part of Development Consent Order application or you have engaged communities to help a project clear planning hurdles.
To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:
- Experience of working within major infrastructure projects communications
- An ability to navigate complex political environments
- Flexibility to lead multiple high profile projects simultaneously
- A communications, marketing or journalism degree / qualification / registration
We're looking for candidates who can bring their experience in areas such as stakeholder engagement, digital communications, and campaign and consultation planning. You might not have all of these skills, but if you think you've got something to offer, we would love to hear from you.
At Surrey, our values and behaviours are just as important as our skills and abilities. They shape who we are as an organisation. Find out more about the**values**we follow.
