*Various shifts available across days (12 hours) 6am- 6pm including Wed - Sat / Thur - Sat and Sun - Wed / Sun - Tue

Bakkavor Meals, based in Wigan, specialises in making chilled ready meals, food to go salads and vegetable accompaniments and employs over 1,000 people. It is part of the Bakkavor Meals sector which has eight factories in the UK.
The production team is vital to our business. As our business' key selling point is "handcrafted products" it is essential that we have hard working committed people working within our team. We manufacture lots of different products within the business; we make over 30 products in any one 12 hour shift so there is lots of variety.
Tasks can vary within the business such as In feeding and topping a product, feeding the product through a flow wrapper and disposing of waste all using a clean as you go process.
As part of your role accountabilities include:
All departmental paperwork, including all Food Safety, Health and Safety and production paperwork
supervision of operatives, allocation of tasks and management of breaks.
quality of products and CCP checks
set up and fault find on machinery linking in with engineering when required.
We are looking for individuals who:
Have previously worked in similar role within a fast-paced production environment
Have a good understanding of food safety best practice.
Know how to work as part of a team with experience with a team leader role
Have an excellent attention to detail

We require all applicants to have a basic understanding of English Literacy and Numeracy (ESOL2)
