Warehouse and Packaging Manager

£30,000 per annum (Full-time, Permanent)

Our clients are known throughout the industry for reliability, integrity, and passion for their customers’ vision. With business growing at an incredible speed, they are looking to strengthen our operations team further with an experienced Warehouse Shift Manager.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role will be responsible for the daily management of the packing and warehouse facility for the essential warehousing functions of Goods In, Picking, Packing, Stockfile Management and Facilities Management, across a team of 20 people.

The main responsibilities will be:

To provide leadership, direction and management to the packing and warehouse team enabling the departments to deliver the highest quality product in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
To develop the business internally in line with the company policy, building relationships and trust.
Lead and motivate the packing and warehouse teams, ensuring staff are recruited to the agreed level of competence
Manage labour spend in line with the agreed budget
Ensure performance data analysis is continuously undertaken and communicated to all staff
To assume direct management and operational responsibility for the Packing and Warehouse Department and its personnel
Operational responsibility for the packing and warehouse departments
Coordinate production start-up, shut down and change over
Responsible for the shift schedule to include work-station assignment/rotations, training, holidays, breaks, overtime assignment and shift rotation
Schedule and conduct staff meetings
Responsible to meet shift production goals and maintain KPIs in a timely manner
Reject products outside of its specification
Ensure personnel are consistently trained to agreed standards
Conduct employee reviews
Compliance of company policies, legislative requirements include financial, health and safety, BRC, ISO standards and HR related issues
Excellent relations with key internal customers and quality teams
Training compliance of all personnel
The ideal candidate will have management experience with a proven track record in implementing business improvement and development.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Warehouse Management: 2 years (required)
Warehousing or operations: 5 years (required)
Be analytical
Be self-motivated
Customer focused – both internal and external
Structured, controlled, and disciplined approach to planning and organising operational/strategic business
GMP experienced
Establish goals and set KPIs to achieve them
Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties
