Site Manager | Cardiff | £45-£50K

Darcy Associates are currently recruiting for a Site Manager on behalf of one of our clients. They are a construction company who specialise in commercial refurbishment projects and they are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join their team.

The company have a lot of work booked in and need a Site Manager to make sure the projects are delivered safely and on time. They specialise in the commercial sector and work on pubs, bars, schools and offices. Some of their clients include David Lloyd, Hilton, Premier Inn, Miller and Carter, Harvester and Brasserie Blanc to name a few.

The ideal candidate must have experience in fast-track refurbishment work and have the willingness to travel and work away as the wok covers the whole of the UK. You may also be asked to work weekends where required.

Monday to Friday - 40 hour weeks - £45k-£50k

As a Site Manager, you will have:

Previous experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry
Experience in fast track refurbishment projects within the construction industry.
Excellent communication and building relationships with all staff, architects, engineers, surveyors, clients, planners and other professionals and specialist consultants.
Willingness to travel and potentially stay away for work.
Good understanding and technical knowledge of the construction industry, including the ability to read and understand technical drawings and the construction process.
The ability to stay relaxed when under pressure
The understanding to implement building and health & safety regulations, as well as other legislation.
The ability to be a great team player as well as be forward thinking and able to make decisions
Knowledge of Health and Safety within the construction industry
A friendly and enthusiastic attitude
Ability to work at a fast pace
Professionalism and be well presented and dedicated
IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

As a Site Manager, you will be:

Planning and overseeing works ensuring they are completed to the highest standards and in line with the construction phase programme.
Monitoring project progress; ensuring materials are delivered to site and ensuring contractors attend site and complete works in line with the programme of works.
Arranging and taking Minutes of pre-commencement meetings and interim meetings with sub-contractors & suppliers.
Ensuring that work completed complies with building regulations, health and safety legislation and other relevant legal requirements.
The first point of contact for members of the public and subcontractors. In charge of regular updates on the progress of work.
Completing all relevant weekly paperwork associated with the site and projects
Attending monthly site meetings with client and design team.
Taking responsibility for all health & safety aspects on site; carrying out daily safety checks, along with completion of weekly safety report.
Checking risk assessments and method statements and ensuring they are fully complied with.
Reporting and recording site incidents, dangerous occurrences, accidents and near misses on site and reporting these to the contracts manager.

Qualifications

Full UK driving licence
NVQ L3 or above in Construction/Building management (or a related qualification)
Valid CSCS card (management level)
Valid first aid training certificate
Valid SMSTS training certificate
