In addition to producing its own minted bars in various sizes, our client also offers its clients metal account facilities in both allocated and unallocated form. With further divisions for refining, "melt & assay", storage, industrial products, special commissions and wedding rings, our client is the only company in the UK that can rightly claim to be a true all round expert and one-stop-shop for all precious metal needs. The company employs over 60 people and operates primarily out of 30,000 sq. ft. of high security premises near City Airport.
Role: Compliance Assistant, Baird & Co.
Report to the Compliance Manager in day to day operations of the Baird & Co. Compliance department
Process all incoming customer account applications in-line with the Company’s AML Onboarding Policy
Assist customers directly with completing and understanding the onboarding journey and the documentation requirement
Answer customer queries on the telephone
Update customer details on the Company’s CRM database
Conduct periodic AML reviews on existing customer files
Complete AML remediation work on existing customer files
Work with the Compliance Manager to prepare compliance data and update customer files in advance of yearly audits conducted on specific customer groups
Assist Senior Management with information requests when required
Maintain and update the Compliance department’s breaches log, employee trading log, complaints register and complete other administrative compliance processes when required
Build strong relationships other departments and assist other departments with customer queries and compliance information requests
Maintain up to date knowledge of regulatory developments affecting the precious metals business
Knowledge & Skills Required
Experience in a similar Compliance role
Confidence and professionalism when dealing with customers face to face and on the telephone
Ability to work well under pressure and process tasks quickly and efficiently
Ability to concentrate and process large volumes of data
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good analytical and numerical skills
Enthusiasm and willingness to learn and develop
Good understanding of precious metals industry locally and globally
Knowledge of Sage accounting software an advantage
