This area of R&E Signals work is the Incremental Upgrade of the Jubilee and Northern Line Systems. These signalling systems employ a technology with a number of obsolete components meaning the continued maintenance and reliable operation of the lines will be severely impacted if solutions are not identified before the affected sub-systems can no longer be maintained. It is a business critical programme vital to the long term continued operation of the Jubilee and Northern Lines. This role is focussed working collaboratively with the system supplier, Thales, to identify cost effective, feasible solutions to a staged upgrade of safety signalling subsystems and components.

Lead the technical collaboration with and between the system supplier, Thales and the London Underground stakeholders (maintainer, operator). The candidate will act as the focal point, integrator and 'guiding mind' for identifying incremental, cost effective solutions to upgrade vital signalling sub-systems and alleviate obsolescence issues. Manage key stakeholder engagement, manage engineering risks and ensure compliance with standards.

The scope requires a signalling engineer with experience in and understanding of the Jubilee and Northern Line SELTrac signalling system, London Underground signalling standards and processes and be a TfL accredited (or previously accredited) Project Engineer in accordance with R0046
