Colmore Recruitment are currently working exclusively alongside multiple large organisations that have residential homes in Birmingham and the surrounding areas that provide care for children with SEMH. If you’re passionate about making a change to children’s lives this role could be for you! Temporary and permanent vacancies available for the right candidates.
Residential Support Worker:
To assist in the development of new techniques and approaches to child care provisions.
To encourage the development of individual interests and attitudes in children and young people.
To promote, safeguard, and protect the welfare of each young person living in the home.
To establish and maintain positive and trusting relationships with the young people that will promote their sense of security.
To provide firm, consistent and fair boundaries in respect of their behaviour and employ appropriate and agreed measures of control.
To ensure that appropriate medical help is provided in cases of illness and accidents.
To promote the development of a healthy lifestyle for young people.
To assist young people in the development and sustaining of positive social networks with adults and other peer groups.
To organise and participate in group activities and group holidays.
To assist in the provision and preparation of meals in the home.
To assist and support young people through the process of leaving care.
To encourage young people to develop their full educational and vocational potential.
To observe and assess the behaviour of young people.

What you will need:
- A minimum of 6 months experience working with children.
- Valid DBS on the update scheme (or willing to get one)
- References covering the last 5 Years.
- A Qualification in health & social care (or similar) is desirable but not essential
