Platform Engineer / DevOps Engineer - AWS - eCommerce cool industry!
Due to the global nature of our client, 95% remote working options are very much open for this role, or if you wanted to be based out of their Spain, Poland, Germany or Netherlands office this is ok too! Our client also has awesome central London offices. You will be working in a company of circa 300 people and you will be in a platform team of 5.
** ESSENTIAL for this role will be for you to have very strong scripting knowledge in any of Bash, Python, Groovy etc. Or if you have originally come from a software engineering background this will be ok too. **
This is a mid-level role where there will be room for you to grow your technical exposure and experience as well as growing your career within the firm.
You will work closely with the development teams and assist them with the operational requirements of implementing new and maintaining existing applications, optimising the delivery pipeline as well as maintaining and scaling our client's infrastructure.
Key technologies our client uses are listed here, experience with all of these is beneficial but not a requirement:
Linux and Docker
AWS including: Fargate ECS, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, ElasticSearch, Glue, Route53 and many more
Tomcat, gUnicorn, NodeJS and Nginx
MySQL, Aurora, MongoDB and RedisYour responsibilities will include
Infrastructure as code - implementing and maintaining
Site uptime, performance, scalability and incident response
Ensuring the developers can deliver by implementing and scaling CI/CD pipelines
Security of the production and development environments
Collaborating with supporting the wider engineering team and stakeholders to deliver solutionsKey attributes:

High degree of technical competency with infrastructure as code and containerisation
Experience deploying and operating high traffic web applications in the cloud
Excellent communication skills and knowledge sharing
Collaborative attitude and mentor to junior team members
