Occupational Therapist - Adults

We are looking to recruit Occupational Therapists on a temporary basis for a Client in Bury.

You will have awareness of Health and Safety issues.
Personal Protective equipment will be provided.

There is ability to do some work from home.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • To be directly accountable for, manage and prioritise a complex specialist equipment and adaptations caseload and work with minimal supervision.
  • To use specialist knowledge of long term conditions, moving and handling and a wide range of equipment and adaptations to inform practice.
  • To assess for the provision of standard and bespoke specialist disability equipment as required.
  • To use assessment, reasoning, communication and negotiation skills to identify and select with the client and their carers, appropriate interventions which balance the complex interaction of risk, safety, client choice, independence, areas of conflict and eligibility for services.
  • To provide specialist advice to customers, colleagues in Assessment and are management, Health, Housing, HIA and make recommendations as required
  • To make recommendations to the Disabled Facilities Grant Panel for the provision of major adaptations.

To provide complex assessments as part of an Adult Social Care Team for equipment and adaptations in the home for customers of all ages who have physical, or mental health to remain at home..
Candidate Profile:

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Must be registered with Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience of working in this field
    Must have experience of equipment and adaptation in working in Social Care
    The ability to build strong working partnerships;
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Decision making and organisational skills;
  • The ability to explain, and encourage and build confidence;
  • The ability to create a rapport with a range of people, especially people with disabilities.

    Any other duties which are reasonable to perform within the grade
