If you answered yes to both of the above, then our client has the position for you! Our client is a global leader in the design and development of advanced Optical & Photonic products.
My client is looking for a PhD Graduate Engineer - Photonics, they are open to a PhD graduate looking for their first commercial role, or people who have completed their PhD and have some experience in a Research / Photonics role.
The job will involve a range of tasks related to the design, prototype assembly and test of optical, fibre-optic and photonic based components and sub-systems, typically covering TRL4 to TRL7. This position requires the individual to have a well-rounded background with a broad knowledge base in fibre-optics, photonics and related technologies. Fully training will be given to the right candidate with a PhD in Photonics.
Skills & Responsibilities of the PhD Graduate Engineer - Photonics role include:
-To promote product quality both generally and proactively.
-Understand the products performance parameters both at the system and sub-system level.
-Interaction with design engineers to understand potential failure modes
-Design and conduct experiments to test both product performance and the performance of manufacturing fixtures.
-Undertake experimental data analysis and produce summary reports.
-Actively participate in troubleshooting activities including root cause analysis both in thecontext of new product development and ongoing manufacturing issues.
- Undertake the design of test equipment including jigs and fixtures.
-PhD in Photonics - or highly related subject
-Knowledge in optical design tools, Zemax Optics Studo
