Learning & Development Manager

Our client, based in Richmond, Surrey, is currently recruiting for a Learning and Engagement Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full time basis. The salary on offer is £40,000 per annum plus an extremely generous pension scheme.

The ideal candidate will have a strong learning and development experience and ideally be at least CIPD L5 or equivalent experience.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Work with managers and staff across the organisation to identify organisational, departmental and individual learning and development needs, setting high standards and providing credible solutions, in agreement with the HR Manager, Organisational Development & Business Partnering (OD & BP)

  • Take responsibility for creating, implementing, communicating and evaluating a high impact Learning & Development plan and programme of core L&D activities which deliver excellent value for money

  • Support the Head of HR & OD and HR Manager OD & BP to manage the L&D budget, by keeping track of spend on the core L&D programme of activities

  • Manage, develop and coach the Learning & Engagement Advisor and HR & OD Co-ordinator to maximise potential and create a culture of excellence.

  • Support the Learning & Engagement Advisor and work with colleagues as part of the employee engagement team, developing and reviewing organisation-wide engagement activities, generating ideas for new engagement initiatives

  • Act as lead on organisation-wide engagement initiatives such as the reward and recognition scheme, staff forum and the annual individual and team awards, delegating to and supporting the Learning & Engagement Advisor to ensure they are delivered effectively, on time, and within budget

  • Lead on the continuous improvement of L&D processes and procedures, supporting the L&E Advisor and HR & OD Co-ordinator to streamline and simplify wherever possible. Lead on the implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring that training records are kept up to date

Experience required:

  • CIPD L5 qualified or equivalent experience

  • Strong L&D background
