Nights Engineering Team Leader

Location: Dronfield – Gunstones Bakery

Due to another large investment in upgrading our Gunstones Bakery and continued business growth within the bakery, we are now looking to increase our Engineering team headcount by recruiting 2 additional Electrical Bias- Engineering Team Leaders.

You may not have heard of Gunstones Bakery, but the site produces some of the finest bread rolls, hot cross buns, iced buns and array of other baked products for one of the nation’s favourite high street retailers, Marks and Spencer, Co-Op and more.

We need candidates to have a recognised engineering qualification with supervisory experience and you will have worked in a similar role within a Food/FMCG, Manufacturing sectors or Ex Forces engineers, as we are able to offer training and development.

Your team will be made up of 4 Engineers and you will be the go-to person on the night shift for the department reporting to the Engineering Shift Manager with a dotted line to the Operations Shift Manager in charge of the site on nights.

About the role:

* To maintain existing machinery and equipment across the site by undertaking work and supervising PPM work and testing on a regular basis, ensuring down time and disruption is kept to a minimum, using root cause analysis.

* To be efficient and flexible in supervising the engineering functions of the site and to play an active role in supporting the business ensuring Health and Safety is at the forefront of systems and decisions.

* A key function of this role is to supervise actions effectively and the engineering agenda.

* Deliver engineering KPI’s to improve performance and overall Bakery efficiencies.

About You:

· Relevant qualification in Mechanical/Electrical engineering

· Comprehensive knowledge of high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation and PLC control systems and legislative requirements.

· Strong planning /organising / communicator and delegator

· Ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure.

· Highly developed communication skills (verbal, written, listening, influencing). Excellent coaching and training skills. Experience and proven ability in managing people and tasks.

· Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.

· Awareness of Health and Safety and other relevant legislation

· Ability to communicate to all levels within the business
