Job Description: Account Director
Reporting to: Client Service Director
Our client is a Medical Communications agency based in Cambridge. This role will be based part-remote (3 days in office) and rest from home.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
* Life science or marketing degree
* Digital marketing / communications experience
* Experience in writing strategic communications proposals
* 5+ years’ pharma marketing experience gained in a medical communications or advertising agency
Overall job purpose:
* Be a trusted advisor to all your clients
* Build client relationships at a strategic and operational level
* Coordinate effectively with internal teams to exceed client expectations
* Identify and activate new business opportunities, proposing appropriate solutions and ensure that revenue and profit targets are achieved
Key responsibilities:
* Proactively identify client needs and generate new opportunities for the agency, including creating and implementing strategic account plans
* Proactively and organically grow the business in line with account plans, working collaboratively with the Client Service Director and Company Director
* Ensure projects are driven and delivered on time, on budget, and on client strategy
* Leading and overseeing client financial management, including budget estimates, reconciliations and accurate forecasting, as well as identifying and managing changes of scope
* Continually evolve the client communication strategy in collaboration with the Client Service Director and Company Director
* Identify areas of interest to client and share information/suggestions
* Lead brainstorms and pitch development
* Regularly review projects and accounts with clients and internal teams
* Support the Client Services Director with development, mentoring, and recruitment of junior team members
* Uphold the values, vision, and culture of the company
Key skills and experience:
* 5+ years’ solid account management experience, demonstrating a track record of strategic thinking, working with multiple clients
* Pharmaceutical industry knowledge and experience in developing healthcare communications
* Proven experience of gaining, growing, and maintaining client relationships
* Extensive understanding and experience of multichannel solutions, including digital
* 2+ years mentoring experience
* Experience of managing multiple projects at the same time,
including planning, delivery, and evaluation
* Experience in domestic and international markets
