We are looking to recruit an experienced Peripatetic Manager to manage services in these times of change - to ensure the continuity of compliant, safe and effective services which meet customer, organisational and financial needs.

Role Description

  • Ensure the availability of administrative support for the delivery of high quality, value for money and economically viable support services, to maintain accurate records, assist with the setting and monitoring of budgets and accounts and to support with other financial matters where required.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with people we support, and relevant external agencies ensuring clients are empowered to become involved in the service, local and national forums, and to engage with community activities.
  • Ensure that support packages for individuals are appropriate to their assessed needs, and that this is decided within a multi-disciplinary network
  • Contribute, as appropriate, to special programmes and projects in support of the Group’s objectives.

Service Delivery Requirements

  1. Lead and direct the day-to-day operational management of services, ensuring that available resources are used effectively to enable the provision of a good quality service.
  2. Ensure that all staff working within the home receive regular supervision, in accordance with CareTech’s Policy.
  3. Ensure that the home offers a safe environment geared to creating opportunities for the personal development of service users, taking into account practical, physical and emotional needs.
  4. Participate in the Area’s on-call management system as required.
  5. Ensure that the home is run in accordance with good Health & Safety practice and legal requirements.
  6. Ensure that maintenance and equipment renewal needs are communicated to the relevant person
  7. Undertake visits in other homes, should this be required.
  8. Support the Company’s Disciplinary & Grievance processes, as required, including involvement in Investigations, and the Chairing of Disciplinary Hearings if need be.
  9. Review the existing service on an on-going basis, to ensure that it continues to run smoothly, and in accordance with the needs and expectations of the service users, the Company and Service Commissioners.
  10. Participate in events, meetings etc., where the intention is to publicise the Organisation and to support the promotion of available services.
  11. Encourage innovative practices and approaches within the home, and work closely with the Company’s senior management team in helping to identify areas of diversification that may provide added value, both to CareTech and those who use our services.

Knowledge and Experience

  • NVQ5 Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards
  • Registered Manager Award or similar relevant professional qualification also essential
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant current statutory legislation and good practice principles
  • Proven knowledge of key needs and services for multiple client groups
  • Experience of auditing services and responding to gaps in service delivery
  • Experience in staff management and of working to deadlines and prioritising work loads
  • Full, current driving licence desirable (may be essential for some services)

Successful candidates will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure prior to commencement of employment, the disclosure expense will be met by the employer.

You may be aware of new regulations, which require that anyone entering a CQC-regulated care home in England to be fully vaccinated subject to certain exemptions. In line with CQC regulations, we will ask for confirmation of your vaccination. The Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) (Coronavirus) Regulations 2021 were made on 22nd July and come into force on 11th November 2021.
