Academics are recruiting on behalf of an Outstanding SEN education and care provider based in the Waterside area of Southampton who are seeking Night Residential Care Workers to join them.

They are looking to appoint on a fulltime, permanent basis (40 hours per week) offering an annual salary of between £16,750£19,500.

They organisation looks after children/young people between the ages of 825 years. They will have special educational needs including ADHD, ASD, SLD, MLD aswell as other needs including psychological disorders.

Night Care Workers are required to work in any home within the organisation, mostly registered children homes but may also include accommodation for outreach projects. Due to this, you must have a clear driving licence as you will be required to drive personal and company vehicles from various sites

Responsibilities: To remain awake and alert throughout the duration of the shift and work on own initiative and without direct supervision

To assist in creating a warm, caring environment in which the children/young peoples physical, emotional, religious and cultural needs will be met At the start of duty, ensure that the buildings are secure and safe Obtain a handover from the day staff before commencing a night shift, as to the current situation of young people Check at regular intervals throughout the night that all young people are safe and present Give a handover to staff coming onto the day shift covering all the events/issues from the night and any follow up action that may be required To safely distribute medication as directed To maintain the home is clean and tidy Present yourself as a positive role model and promote good relationships Be responsible for the basic care of the children/young people within the living group in matters of personal hygiene and appearance. You must be warm, engaging and encourage their social, emotional and educational development
