Network Support Engineer
Fantastic opportunity with a largescale, multisite organization for an experienced Network Support Engineer, with strengths in Networking, who has a cando team attitiude and is willing to also support wider infrastructure as required (server, storage, EUC etc)
The position is predominantly BAU support, with some project work covering design and implementation.
What youll do:
Act as the sole Technical Network SME working for projects and BAU activities Support the network and other infrastructure as required Plan and execute changes in accordance with Service Delivery Management and Change Management policies and processes. Documenting procedures, processes and high and lowlevel designs Work collaboratively with support teams/colleagues, suppliers and group to deliver technical solutions per business requirements Mentoring of junior engineers. Technical design and implementation of network technologies
Youll need experience as a 3 rd / 4 th Line Network Infrastructure Engineer with experience of:
Networking technologies (primarily in a support capacity; ideally a CCNA certification with experience of sitetosite VPNs). Experience with CheckPoint would be of benefit, although not a requirement. Monitoring tools including Solar Winds would be advantageous. A strong customer focus with strong communication (verbal/written) and influencing skills, with an ability to manage internal and external relationships up to senior levels of management.
Being a small team, where you will be expected to muckin supporting the wider infrastructure, any skills and experience across the following would also be advantageous (not all essential)
Server technologies (Windows Server 2003, 2008, 2012 and 2016). Virtualisation technologies (primarily VMware ESXi, although HyperV would be of benefit). Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols and standards, including but not limited to: Windows Server (2003 2016), Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, RAID, PowerShell, Office 365, Unified Communications, IP Telephony and Video Conferencing, Windows Desktop (7 to 10). Citrix XenApp / Xendesktop would be advantageous An understanding of PCI DSS and ISO27001 would be beneficial. Microsoft, Cisco and / or ITIL certifications beneficial.
Position involves oncall. 1weekin5. Remunerated.
£380 to £420 p/d
6 month contract.
