Lyst is going through an exciting period of growth and we’re scaling fast, so we’re seeking a People & Office Assistant to support our expanding team on this journey. This new role will form part of our Corporate Support department and will primarily support our People Ops, Facilities & Legal teams with operational and administrative tasks. You will be responsible for delivering first line support that contributes to the smooth operation of our Corporate Support function, contributing to a brilliant employee experience, alongside our People Advisors and Facilities team for close guidance and coaching.


This role will have areas of responsibilities that fall into the below functions:


  • Leads on delivering the entire new starter onboarding process. From setting up new starter accounts, sending their onboarding email, hosting their new starter intro on their first day and co-ordination of monthly induction.

  • Manages all employee administration in relation to the employee lifecycle; from generating new starter contracts, probation management, promotion & contractual change letters, to resignation acknowledgement letters.

  • Maintains all people related platforms, including: HiBob, 7Geese & Officevibe and supports in ensuring we have accurate and consistent employee and contractor data on file.

  • Manages all physical and electronic employee files, ensuring paperwork is saved correctly and safely, and remains up-to-date.

  • Captures all payroll changes monthly, to enable accurate payroll processing.

  • Provides first line support for all people queries- establishing when necessary to escalate.

  • Ensures right to work checks are appropriately completed for all new starters, and upon expiry of existing right to work documentation.

  • Supports the Legal function with some administration duties, and ensures Consultancy agreements are created, sent and maintained on an ongoing basis.

  • Supports with any ad-hoc administrative support across the team.


  • Alongside the Office Manager, this role is responsible for working on the front desk, to create team access cards, to greet our guests, arrange relevant visitor passes and provide a top-notch front of house service.

  • Address employee queries regarding office management issues, (. stationery requests & hot desking queries).

  • Support the office manager in ensuring the office is maintained to a high standard, reporting any lights/meeting rooms/ kitchen utilities that are out of order to the office manager.

  • Organises couriers for any work from home requests

  • Responsible for refreshments required in the office, whether that be our weekly Ocado shop, monthly birthday cakes or drinks for Friday socials.

  • Supports with organising and facilitating on-site and off-site events being held.

  • Experience of using common admin tools, such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office.

  • Good communication skills and able to interact with different stakeholders at all levels.

  • Adaptable- with the ability to successfully juggle multiple and varied tasks throughout the course of the week.


  • Flexible Working:Our flexible working approach offers a high degree of freedom and autonomy. Individuals are provided with the discretion to work remotely on a regular basis, with an expectation that a reasonable proportion of time is spent in the office to enhance in-person collaboration.
