Field Sales Representative- Laboratory Equipment

Sales Professional / Product Specialist

This role would ideally suit an experienced Sales Professional / Product Specialist with at least 3 years' experience and a proven track record of selling / supporting laboratory equipment in laboratories, a post graduate looking to move into a sales role.

Due to continued success and growth, AMPCS Ltd is seeking to recruit an experienced Field Sales Representative.

The successful candidate will earn between £30,000 - £40,000, depending on experience, plus a generous commission. An attractive company car, fuel allowance and best quality laptop and mobile phone will also be included as standard. The successful candidate will work 8:30 - 17:30 with flexibility as required.

The appointed candidate will work collaboratively with the company Director in developing new business and expanding the company further throughout the UK and Ireland. This is a fantastic long term opportunity to join a well-respected company with excellent career prospects.

Role Requirements

  • Dynamic, high energy sales professional with successful experience in direct sales, high-level, executive selling of long-cycle products.
  • Ideally a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Management, Marketing (or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to exceed quarterly targets.
  • Understanding of laboratory methods is essential, alternatively this role may suit someone with good laboratory experience in the relevant field looking for a move to sales and customer relationships.
  • Past experience working with NIR and Wet Chemistry an advantage.
  • This is a field-based role, the candidate must be willing to travel and stay away from home as and when the job demands.
  • Strong computer, written and interpersonal communications skills.

Role Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running!

  • Prospect and qualify existing and/or potential customers, within assigned territory.
  • Communicate and maintain customer service standards and measurements in line with the requirements of the company.
  • Drive opportunities at the strategic and tactical level.
  • Responsible for securing new business, additional orders, and maintenance renewal orders for all services revenue using the resources available.
  • Identify and close deals with corporate customers through direct selling.
  • Work in tandem with the Administrative staff, Managing Director and Engineers to inform the customer of, and demonstrate the company's capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with client decision makers including maintaining a sales strategy based on customers' requirements.
  • Keep in the loop on new products, services, and other general information of interest to customers, through successful completion of the company and its suppliers Sales Training and self-study.
  • Stay informed of customer business opportunities, current conditions, future prospects, active measurements, and competitive issues.
  • Regularly brief management on status, prospects, and current needs of all customers.
  • Keep records and generate reports on all phases of activities, including Account Plans and forecasts.
  • Understand and manage all phases of the sales cycle; ability to handle technical/product inquiries when needed.
