Digital Officer - Communications London Are you a marketing or communications professional with a strong understanding of digital content and online platforms? About Us We are the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), an independent research organisation that aims to deliver positive change on a global scale. We provide original, rigorous research that helps to drive progress, support sustainable development and protect the environment. We identify local solutions that can work at scale and introduce these to global forums. We're now looking for a Digital Officer to join our busy and friendly Communications Group, working as part of our Web Team. We work with some of the world's most vulnerable people to strengthen their voice in the decision-making arenas that affect them - from village councils to international conventions. The Role As a Digital Officer, you will help to build IIED's digital profile by contributing to our digital communications activities and producing compelling content for our online platforms. Working with research groups, partners and colleagues across the organisation, you will: - Support the smooth running of our website and ensure that all content is optimised - Develop supporter journeys and site experiences, taking user experience best practice into account - Post new and update existing content to IIED's main website, Publications Library and subsites - Support the production of our Make Change Happen podcast series - Provide content to support our research groups and IIED's programme of events - Implement SEO and PPC strategies - Help to develop content for, and manage, our social media platforms and online communities About You To join us as a Digital Officer, you will need: - At least two years' experience of working with digital content - At a minimum, two years' experience of using social media and online platforms to support marketing or events-related work - At least two years' experience of working with civil society organisations in marketing or communication roles - Knowledge and experience of updating websites and managing online communities - Excellent knowledge of Drupal 7, Google Analytics, Google Docs, Adobe Photoshop and MS Office - A degree (or equivalent) in a marketing or communications-related discipline Other organisations may call this role Content Executive, Content Officer, Online Content Executive, Communications Officer, Content Producer, Copywriter, Writer, or Digital Content Officer.
