SEND Teacher – ASC Experience – January Start until July 2022

Are you a teacher with experience planning, delivering and resourcing consistently good or outstanding lessons?

Do you have experience teaching Primary or Secondary students with autism or SEN? Or maybe you are looking for a new challenge or opportunity to expand your skills in new sector? We want to hear from you!

An ‘outstanding’ SEN provision in the Oldham are looking for an experienced SEN teacher for 2 terms from January 2022.

You will be teaching 12 students in KS4 and KS5 who are working at a functional skills level and follow a curriculum based on developing skills for work and life. All the students have autism and other social communication difficulties and work best with regular routine and consistent behaviour and reward strategies.

The successful candidate will:
• Have QTS, QTLS or other relevant teaching qualifications
• Be available January 2022 until Summer 2022
• Be able to provide a minimum of 2 references to cover the last 2 years employment history
• Be an excellent practitioner with the commitment and motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development
• Have experience of teaching young people with Autism or Special Educational Needs within the primary or secondary sector or have a specific interest in developing their teaching skills in a special school setting.
• Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through imaginative and differentiated lessons which meet individual needs
• Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data and pupil progress tracking to ensure that all groups of learners achieve
• Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with a range of complex needs
• Be able to build positive relationships with the class group, ensuring consistency and continuity on a daily basis.
• Have the ability to foster good relationships with other staff, pupils, parents and the wider community
• Be hard working, organised and proactive in their professional development
• Be a team player who can work effectively with all members of the New Bridge team
