Buchan Master Technician
Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
Permanent (Full time)
If you love being a vehicle technician but you’re thinking “I fancy a change”, “I want more variety”, then we may just have exactly what you’re looking for!
You’ve probably seen some of our vehicles driving around the country, transporting our fantastic customers from A to B. We’ve just confirmed an investment of £million in 22 brand new Electric double decker buses for our Bluebird operation and we are now looking to expand the team to maintain our already top quality fleet.
You’ll have the responsibility of maintaining and repairing our fleet of 38 vehicles. We have different body types, including solos, E200s and B11R Interdecks! Don’t worry if you’ve not worked on these vehicles before – we’ll train you on everything you need to know, and you’ll be supported by a great team of fellow Electricians, Mechanics, Storespeople, Administrator and Engineering Managers who all pull together to do a brilliant job.
Our customers rely on our services to get them to work, to the high street, to hospitals, to days away and nights out – and as part of our engineering team you’ll be a key part in making sure our vehicles are in tip top condition to do just that. It’s a really important role within our depot, so we’ll make sure you’re as looked after as our vehicles are!
And it’s not all garage-based work. You could find yourself out and about dealing with vehicles on the road, so it won’t always be the same four walls you’re looking at!
You will be required to work 45 hours per week (day shift and back shift) 5 days over 7.
Aside from the reward of helping to deliver an incredible experience to our customers, there’s plenty more we can offer:
Job security – we’ve been going since 1980, we turn over £ and we’re not planning on hanging our boots up anytime soon!
Dealership Level Training– Successful candidates will be trained by the manufacturers to there level.
Master Tech– Successful candidate will be put through the full IMI master tech qualification.
Free travel– for you and household members on Stagecoach buses. That means on your days off (of which there are plenty!) you can be off shopping or exploring some of the fantastic attractions on the island.
Promotions– perhaps you’re happy sticking as a Technician and that’s fine by us, but if you want to progress we’ll support you every step of the way.
You will be given exposure to work which will develop your skills and experience to allow you to progress your career further. Many of our Stagecoach Engineering Managers started off as Technicians – so that could very well be you in the not too distant future!
