Working out of their office in Wakefield, a vacancy for a Building Surveyor is available to join a thriving company with offices all over the North of England. This is an opportunity that doesnt come around often to work at a widely known firm within the property and construction industry.
Undertaking site visits will be just one of the many things you will carry out along with accessing every part of the premises/ building site i.e. ladder use.
Experience & Knowledge:
Can carry out measured surveys Comfortable in creating construction drawing and detailing Knowledge of contract admin Previous work in a customer based environment A good understanding of Construction Design Management and the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 in terms of designing A fair understanding of the Fire Legislation An understanding of the National Building Specification Have the skillset to perform Fire Risk Assessments (Not essential) Office environment experience (Not essential) A full understanding of construction A full understanding of construction legislation e.g. complying with typical practice and site health and safety Evidence of continuous learning in support of Continued Professional Development (Not essential)
- Skills & Competencies:
Can comfortably work in a team of technical/professional staff Handle numerous ongoing tasks Adequate knowledge with AutoCAD/ Windows Office Applications; specifically Excel. (CV). Flexibility and adaptability Respectable project management skills with importance on organisation and time keeping History of using SketchUp Full understanding of building pathology Adequate written English skills with writing reports Effective communication skills which will assist in winning and holding on to client, along with maintaining confidence with current customers and service users Good negotiating skills
- Qualifications/Training and Education:
Have an Alevel or similar grade in a related field/subject Finished a Building Surveying Course (Degree level) with a RICS accreditation Active member or working towards gaining Professional Associate member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors OR Active member or working towards gaining Chartered Institute of Builders Full Driving licence + Own transport CSCS Card

Salary on offer:
£30,000 £45,000 depending on experience
