AMBERLEY MUSEUM MARKETING OFFICER (Part-Time) Our Background Amberley Museum is looking to recruit a Marketing Officer. The Museum is dedicated to showcasing and preserving the industrial heritage of the South with a vast range of outdoor and indoor exhibits on its 36 acre site in a chalk quarry in the South Downs National Park. A registered charity founded 40 years ago, the Museum is located next to Amberley railway station near Arundel and close to major access roads in West Sussex. The Officer will be working within a small team and reporting to the Director. The Role The Marketing role is critical to increasing the Museum’s footfall, group visits, promoting our regular events, courses, venue hire and site use including for film/photography. Thus the officer will be utilising the full range of marketing tools including website, social media, press relations, advertising, signage, special offers/promotions, fostering our membership offering, and community relations. Ongoing activities include producing a weekly e-newsletter for internal communication, updating the website, market analysis, writing press releases, updating on social media, poster and leaflet design and reporting progress to management against agreed targets. The Individual The successful candidate is likely to have around three years practical experience, ideally in a marketing role in a tourist or heritage environment. We are looking for a proven track record. This is a great opportunity to develop as a marketing generalist in the heritage sector. It would be desirable if the candidate has marketing qualifications or is educated to graduate level or equivalent. The candidate needs to be able to work in a small team, be a self-starter, enthusiastic and have an ability to think outside the box. Salary: Full time equivalent salary would be £20-23K depending on experience. We are looking for someone who wishes to work flexibly for 25-30 hours per week, perhaps during school hours or to fit around educational courses.
