Through collaboration with our external suppliers and internal business partners, Global Procurement helps bring innovative tests and medicines to patients. The Data & Analytics Lead, is part of the Global Procurement Analytics & Insights team, and will report directly to the Head of Analytics & Insights. As a member of the Analytics & Insights leadership team this role is responsible for developing data and analytics strategies which support harmonized approaches and solutions across the wider team to align and improve deliverables, processes, and tools. As the Data & Analytics Lead you are accountable for the delivery and development of reliable business intelligence and data analysis services which enable data-driven decision making throughout the Global Procurement organization. You are responsible for managing and overseeing the data architecture (in partnership with IT) and data engineering methods and processes, and data quality within the Analytics & Insights team, and providing solutions to ensure both internal and external data sources can be used effectively for analytics initiatives. You play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of Analytics & Insights initiated data science projects by prioritizing, coordinating, and tracking analytical activities of data science resources. Your accountabilities: * Develop people reporting directly on functional level and provide feedback to others contributing to the Analytics & Insights team’s deliverables and performance. * Define the data and analytics strategy by defining common objectives and strategies across Analytics & Insights to ensure data is used effectively and efficiently, and in support of Global Procurement strategy and goals. * Represent Analytics & Insights and partner with IT and the Global Business Process Management team for cross team and systems related topics. * Design and implement data engineering methods and processes to collect data from inside and outside of Roche in an industrialized manner. * Create data models, policies, and standards that define and govern the type of data collected and how it is used, stored, managed, and integrated within Roche procurement reporting and analysis activities. * Manage the overall portfolio of various advanced analytics and data science initiatives to ensure balanced usage of data science resources, and the effective prioritization of demand. * Manage and oversee the delivery of data quality stewardship and data science activities. * Manage overall budget needed to support the annual operating activities of the Analytics & Insights team members. * Drive documentation and knowledge sharing. What you bring: * Relevant Bachelors or Masters degree (e.g. Statistics, Economics, Math, Finance) * Extensive experience in Analytics, Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Finance * Proficient experience in Data Engineering / Architecture experience with some technical leadership * Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and line manage a global team of direct reports * Ability to effectively communicate and work across business lines and regions * Expertise in SQL programming especially in an Oracle environment * Strong MS Office, Business Intelligence experience and database knowledge * Extensive experience with analytical software and dashboarding tools e.g., Tableau, SAP Analytics in the Cloud, Spotfire * Strong problem solving and project management skills * Ability to collect, organize, assess, analyze, integrate and visualize data and qualitative information from a variety of sources to assess business problems, build business cases, track and monitor performance * Experience with Procurement systems i.e. SAP ERP, Ariba * Excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels of the organization * Team player with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills * Self-starter/innovative thinker * Ability to challenge the status quo * Strong collaborator with influencing skills * Demonstrated resilience and strong business ethics * Demonstrated ability to work independently, drive continuous improvement and effectively manage change * Ability to work in a changing and complex environment * Business level fluency in English * Pharmaceutical industry or management consulting experience preferred * Availability and willingness to travel up to 15% No relocation is available for this role.
