We are recruiting for a Product Manager at StepChange Debt Charity to take responsibility for ensuring our products and services meet the needs of our customers and are delivered, released and managed successfully.

What you will be doing

This role is responsible for managing our existing products throughout the product lifecycle, as well as developing new products to bring to market. You will maintain a strategy and roadmap for all products, as well and draw from client insights to ensure products reflect market trends.

Duties and responsibilities

Ensure that the products and services provided by StepChange are fit for purpose, in line with business objectives, regulatory frameworks and the legal environment
Collaborate where agreed/needed with third party partners, participating actively in procurement processes, ensuring the charity receives the required value
Work in close collaboration with the User Experience team
Ensure products/features have clear metrics of success, deliver evaluations of performance / outcomes against them
Lead discovery workshops and processes to set product/feature requirements
Own the critical path from insight and strategy, through to product launch and product lifecycle management
Maintain comprehensive, practical product knowledge across all aspects of the relevant product / service lines
Manage internal and external product stakeholders, handling product queries and communications with stakeholders as required.
Ensure that accurate and comprehensive requirements are defined, produced and clearly communicated to all relevant parties
Utilise 'lean' and / or other continuous improvement principles where appropriate, to identify service improvements / enhancements that will create more value for the charity and its clients
Monitor external and internal market and technology developments to provide insight and inspiration for new product development
Experience and knowledge

Degree/graduate qualification, or equivalent professional experience
Specialist knowledge of managing products and services (desirably using 'lean' principles)
Experience gained in a fast moving, commercial, customer-centric operation supporting successful cross-functional change to benefit the customer
Experience of requirements definition / creation of epics/user stories
Experience of using performance / analytics tools and constructing high-level business cases
Experience using and interpreting market and user research
Experience of procurement processes and working with third party organisations
Knowledge of consumer journey and segmentation models
Good technical awareness (telephone and digital channels)
Good commercial awareness
Experience of having acted as a product owner in an agile environment (desirable)
Skills and abilities

Personal impact and credibility and the ability to drive ideas and concepts and champion these up to Director level and to teams outside of your own
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively analyse complex data
Ability to consider performance through different lenses: client/user, regulatory, policy, financial, operational
Innovative and with a can-do attitude
