Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for enthusiastic Psychology graduates and students, to work as learning support assistants in our schools in Wilshire. The roles will be both part and full-time on a supply basis in schools and it involve working with children and young adults with additional needs. You will be able to choose the days you want to work and in schools nearby where you live or study.

The schools we work with cater for pupils in Primary and Secondary ages and they urgently require large number of temporary staff with Psychology background to work as special needs Learning support assistants with their pupils to enable their learning and emotional support in and outside the classroom. To be considered for these temporary roles the ability to engage and build rapport using Psychology knowledge and academic background is essential. If you study or have experience in Psychology, Mental health, Neuroscience and can use your understanding of child psychology, emotional development and various psychological and special educational needs, please contact us immediately as we have a huge demand from our schools for these skills.

In these Learning support roles, your primary areas of responsibility will be to:

Support and enable learning with the instructions given by the teacher

You will gain relevant paid work experience related to special educational needs and educational psychology.

Have a creative and innovative approach to understand and supporting to re-engage disaffected learners in education and overcome barriers to learning.

Support the teachers for class and activity preparation

Monitor students learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets and report to the teachers of any positive and negative changes.

To work with any aged students with special needs between 0830-1530 hour during the week in term time only.

To join us and be successful in this role, you will need to:

* either Hold or Study A Psychology/Counselling/Mental Health/Neuro Science related degree or equivalent qualification or studying towards them.

*Have Special Educational Needs (SEN) knowledge, experience or willingness to work with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties (SEMH)

*A strong desire to have an impact on the lives of vulnerable young people

*Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
*Have a CV covering at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
*Have the legal right to work in the UK
